Exam Information

Examinations are an important part of your journey through Year 10 and Year 11. They give you the opportunity to show what you know, what you understand and how much progress you have made in your subjects. Although exams can feel challenging, the best way to approach them is to stay organised, work consistently and make use of the support available to you.

Throughout the year, you will be given information about exam timetables, revision resources, controlled assessment deadlines and key dates. It is important that you keep checking this information carefully and speak to your teachers if you are unsure about anything. Being prepared and knowing what is expected can make a big difference.

As exam season gets closer, you should focus on building good habits. This includes attending college every day, completing classwork and homework, revising regularly and asking for help when you need it.  Small, regular revision sessions are usually much more effective than leaving everything until the last minute.

You should also make sure you understand the rules and expectations around exams. This includes arriving on time, bringing the correct equipment and following all exam regulations. These rules are there to make sure exams are fair for everyone.

Remember, you are not expected to do this alone. Your teachers, form tutors and support staff are here to help you every step of the way. With the right preparation, a positive attitude and consistent effort, you can approach your GCSE exams with confidence.
