Exam Information

Examinations are an important stage in every student’s education and play a key role in shaping future pathways, including sixth form, college, apprenticeships and employment. At Unity College, we are committed to supporting students and families throughout the exam process so that every young person feels prepared and confident.

During Years 10 and 11, students will receive important information about examination timetables, revision guidance, coursework or controlled assessment deadlines, and key dates. We ask parents and carers to encourage students to check this information carefully and to speak to staff if anything is unclear.

Support from home can make a significant difference during the exam period. Encouraging regular attendance, good organisation, positive study habits and a balanced routine can all help students to manage their workload successfully. Short, regular revision sessions, good sleep and a calm approach are often far more effective than last-minute cramming.

It is also important that students understand and follow exam regulations. This includes arriving on time, bringing the correct equipment and following all instructions in the exam room. These procedures help to ensure that exams are conducted fairly and in line with national expectations.

We understand that exams can be a challenging time for both students and families. Our staff are here to provide guidance, reassurance and practical support throughout the process. By working together, we can help every student approach their GCSE examinations with confidence and give them the best possible chance of success.
