Along with English, Mathematics is one of the core skills that all students need to ensure future progression and employability. All students study Maths and we provide extra numeracy support to those students who need it when they join Unity. We also offer one-to-one tuition to any student who falls significantly behind their target.
In Key Stage 4, all students are entered for a GCSE Mathematics qualification and there are two tiers of entry (Foundation and Higher). The Mathematics course throughout years 10 and 11 is modular, and students have the opportunity to re-sit if they underperform in a particular modular exam. In addition to this course, we also offer students the opportunity to pick up other numeracy qualifications through either ALAN tests or Functional Skills accreditation.
