In Years 10 and 11, students have the opportunity to become ‘architects of their own curriculum’ – choosing subjects which match their skills and interest them most. Those who are especially talented in one or several areas have the chance to accelerate their work. They receive specialist support and are given the opportunity to extend their work beyond GCSE, in partnership with the Burnley Schools’ Sixth Form. Students continue to receive a broad based curriculum but the Curriculum Options allow them to select specific courses.

Every student at Unity College will study core subjects in English, Maths and Science as well as courses in PE, Community Cohesion (including RE and Citizenship) and ICT.

In addition, students in Years 10 and 11 can choose, through the Curriculum Options, to pick up GCSE (full and short course), OCR National Qualifications, BTEC First Diplomas and Certificates, other accreditedations or interest courses in:
