ICT is a core subject throughout all years at Unity College. In Year 7, ICT forms part of the innovative new iXL curriculum. Students study at least one lesson of ICT each week but have the option of choosing extra ICT through the Interest Module curriculum in Year 9. Our unique pathway curriculum in Year 7 also offers the most able students the chance to explore computer programming. As well as the core ICT curriculum, students also acquire functional ICT skills throughout their studies.
At Key Stage 4, we currently offer OCR National Level 2 qualifications through the options process in addition to the core ICT that all students study. This gives students the possibility of gaining the equivalent of up to 4 GCSE grades in the subject at the end of Year 11. The OCR Nationals course is available as either a single or double option choice.
This course is assessed on 100% coursework and has no written exam.
